Members Present: Mayor Mr. Rolfes Law Director Mrs. Rentz Councilpersons Mr. Nunnery, Ms. Romweber, Mr. Simpson, Mr. Albu Mr. Seifert and Mr. Montague Maintenance Mr. Gillespie Supervisor Absent: Clerk/Treasurer Ms. Ross Mr. Rolfes opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. MINUTES: Mr. Albu moved that the minutes be approved as corrected. Mr. Seifert seconded the motion. Motion carried 100%. TREASURER’S REPORT: Mr. Albu moved that Council accept the Treasurer’s Report. Mr. Nunnery seconded the motion. Motion carried 100%. Mr. Albu moved that outstanding bills be paid. Ms. Romweber seconded the motion. Motion carried 100%. POLICE REPORT: FIRE REPORT: Assistant Chief Ober reported there were 3 fire details in North Bend last month. Of those, 2 were automobile accidents at US50 and Shady Lane. There were 13 EMS details in North Bend. GUESTS: Hamilton County Commissioner Phil Heimlich discussed concerns and issues that would be affecting the County and North Bend in the future. He visited the Council to show commitment to supporting our Village as an integral part of the County. COUNCIL OLD BUSINESS: Mr. Seifert reported that North Bend and Hamilton County would divide the costs to repair Brower Road. He said the estimate would be no more than $20,000 for the Village and $20,000 for Hamilton County. He reported that the cost most likely would be $15,000 for each government entity. Hamilton County asked that we sign a contract to that effect. Mr. Montague moved that we approve a resolution to sign a contract with the County. Mr. Albu seconded the motion. Motion carried 100%. Council commended Ken Neyer for his service to North Bend. SOLICITOR OLD BUSINESS: None MAYOR’S OLD BUSINESS: None COMMITTEES: Law & Ordinance Ms. Romweber discussed Lower River Road and the request for a license agreement update. She asked if North Bend really wanted Lower River Road as it is under water most of the time. If Lower River Road is vacated by the Village, the surrounding property owners must sign a petition for abandonment of Lower River Road. Safety Mr. Simpson reported on the traffic light for US50 and Shady Lane. He said on 7/21, JMA and Paul Beck, Miami Township Trustee, attended a meeting with Mr. Bill Brayshaw the Hamilton County engineer. Mr. Brayshaw says there is a Municipal Road fund and $60,000 could be obtained. The Village would need to apply and include letters of support and construction for engineering drawings. No public meeting with ODOT will be required. Mr. Simpson moved that we move forward on the US 50 Shady Lane traffic project. Mr. Seifert seconded the motion. Motion carried 100%. Maintenance Mr. Seifert reported that he met with Taylor High School and they approved the newly painted crosswalks. Mr. Seifert said Mr. Niehaus is working with JMA to prepare the Aston Oaks streets to be accepted by the Village. COUNCIL NEW BUSINESS: None SOLICITOR’S NEW BUSINESS: Ms. Rentz reported that the new Ohio Conceal Carry Law requires the Village to post a notice that there will be no deadly weapons allowed on any Village property. MAYOR’S NEW BUSINESS: None OPEN TO THE FLOOR None ADJOURNMENT Mr. Seifert moved that the meeting be adjourned. Mr. Albu seconded the motion. Motion carried 100%.
